 Dear Parents It is hard to believe that there is only one week of school left for 2023! Thank you for a wonderful year with your beautiful children. I have seen them grow in their learning, self-help skills and confidence. Please read the below important notes. Transition Afternoon – Today.  The whole school will be participating in a transition this afternoon where they will be given a chance to meet their teachers for 2024...they won't know which teacher they will have but this will be a great chance for them to eyeball their possible new teacher and build some excitement! Library Books.  Please do a final check for any missing or late library books and send them in with your child as soon as possible. Cleaning - Wednesday 6th of December Please send your child to school in their sports uniform. We will be cleaning desks and chairs in the morning.   Dear parents, Week 7 is here already! The term is flying by. Christmas Concert Costume – Wednesday 29 November The Christmas Concert this year is on Wed Nov 29 in Week 8 is a funny nativity play called 'Straw and Order' and will include classes PP-Y5. Each year group will have a few students acting but the whole year group will have a song to sing so all will be involved. Y6 will lead us in a Christmas Medley at the end.   Dear parents, Week 5 already! The term is flying by. I will be away in Perth on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14 th for the funeral of my bother-in-law, Grant. Please keep my sister (Tanya) and her family in your prayers.   Dear parents, It is hard to believe that there is only seven weeks to go until the children finish Year Two! Year 2 Cultural Excursion – Meelup – tomorrow Please send your child to school in their sport uniform for our cultural excursion to Meelup. We will leave by bus at 9:15am and return to school at approx. 12:00pm. School Photos – Thursday, 26 October School photos will be taken on Thursday 26 October. Photo information was sent home last week for ordering. The Year 2 students are expected to wear their formal school uniforms on photo day. Grandparents Day – Friday, 3 November (week 4) This will be celebrated on Friday the 3rd of November so please make sure that your child has taken the time to invite their grandparents along if possible. Grandparents are invited to gather in the hall for a 9am start assembly.   Dear parents, Term 4 begins on Monday! It is hard to believe there is only 9 weeks left of Year 2 before the long holidays begin and Christmas not far behind! I hope you had a relaxing break and found time to enjoy some beautiful spring weather.   Photos from Book Week! Year 2 Cultural Excursion - Meelup Year Two children will be going on an excursion to Meelup Beach with Josh Whiteland on Monday, 23 October. The children will experience the Meelup Walk and storytelling of Mammung the Whale. Permission slips will be sent home this week. Please sign and send back to school as soon as possible. Mass (week 2) On Wednesday (18.10.23), our class will be walking to Our Lady of the Southern Cross for Mass commencing at 9:30am. You are welcome to join us for this event if you would like.   Dear parents, I hope you have all had a restful weekend! It is hard to believe that there is only two weeks of Term 3 left!  Open Classroom Afternoon (this week) Classroom open afternoon on Wednesday 13 of September from 3:15 – 5:00pm.   Your child's writing books, InitiaLit books and art folio will be on their desks. If you are available, please drop in for a look. I will have award stickers available for you to select two with your child and stick to their favourite pieces of work. This can be work that is on display or in a workbook. Sports Carnival (this week) The sports carnival is taking place on Friday 15th of September at 9:15am. Please send your child to school in their sports uniform with their faction shirt on.  Parents are invited to attend and there is a sausage sizzle available on the day.
